For the last three years I've been building my own creative space as prices to record in a professional studio often discourage the thin walleted player. So what do I record with?
BR1180 Boss Digital 8 Track with CD burner and 20 GB hard drive
2 Roland Self-Powered 30 Amp Monitors (very flat)
1 Shure 57 Mic
1 CAD GXL3000 Gold Plated Dual Diaphragm Condenser Mic
2 CAD GXL1200 Mics (good for overheads)
1 APEX 410 Wide Diaphragm Mic
1 Yamaha Classical Guitar
1 Yamaha Semi-Acoustic Guitar
1 Yamaha Bass Guitar
1 Odessey Bass Guitar
1 Fender Dobro
I truly find that this situation is fantastic for creating good quality demo's but I am planning on upgrading to a Roland 2400 with 80 GB hard drive,16 XLR inputs, CD burner, 15" monitor for real editing, and surround sound capabilities. That sounds like fun to me! I think that with a little patience you can get great sound and not spend your last penny. Don't get me wrong though if I had lots of dough to spend believe me I would. So....listen to a song or two and please leave your comments and critiques.
